Azazie Launches Accessories

Azazie, an online DTC retailer specializing in bridal wear and bridesmaids dresses, has recently announced its expansion into footwear, purses, and other accessories. One could say that Azazie is the new David’s Bridal, as news of this iconic affordable bridal stop just filed for bankruptcy! Like David’s Bridal, Azazie is budget bridal wear. Unlike David’s Bridal, Azazie has focused on e-commerce sales since its inception. It has taken a new, modern, and convenient approach to a one-stop bridal shop and it is only getting started!

Azazie’s new footwear line is designed to match its dress offerings and will include over 25 styles. Square heels, wedges, and close-toed heels, Azazie is serving! With satin details, stone embellishments, and a classic palette of blue, black, and gold, these shoes are on-trend and will go with any evening wear in your closet. The best part? All priced under $70! Gone are the days where bridesmaids must pay and arm and a leg for an outfit they will only wear once.

“Our decision to expand into different categories and internationally was because of customer demand,” says CMO Ranu Coleman. Sounds like Azazie has created some buzz within the bridal world! Azazie’s goal is to be the premier destination of your affordable bridal needs. In addition to targeting weddings, Azazie also offers cocktail dresses and recently partnered with Kendall and Kylie Jenner for a limited edition collaboration.

It’s expansion is also due to its high volume of sales as they experienced no shut down during the Covid-19 2020 pandemic. Due to it being an online retailer, consumers were able to shop for any small scale events! According to Retail Dive, “total sales revenue for 2022 increased 130% year over year from 2021, while 2021 revenue saw a year-over-year jump of 180%. ” Wow, that is no easy feat! No wonder they’re expanding into accessories. In addition to capturing the Gen-Z market, they will most likely take over David Bridal’s target market, as well.

So, with this expansion into accessories, does Azazie have plans to move into a brick-and-mortar sphere? As of now, Coleman says that their consumers enjoy the convenience of online shopping. She wants the customers to enjoy shopping on their own terms. But, never rule anything out! Azazie is clearly taking over the bridal and evening wear industry by storm!

I haven’t heard of this brand and it’s really great that it offers affordable bridesmaids’ dresses! I know there are some people who decline to attend weddings as a bridesmaid because the costs for the attire alone can really add up, so Azazie is definitely reaching out to a great market, and its online nature is so convenient for such an online consumer base nowadays!

it’s great! I actually bought a bridesmaids dress from this website for a wedding. Highly recommend.

Hi Surbhi! I enjoyed reading on this brand and its latest expansion. Often people think of the pandemic in relation to its negative impacts on brands but for this company they actually benefited from the rise in online shopping. I am excited to see where this company will go.

Hi Ashley! Yes, the e-commerce industry has exploded since 2020!
