Is it actually cheaper to fly to Europe to see her show than go locally?

It has been rumored on the internet since Taylor Swift began her Eras Tour that it would be cheaper for you to purchase a ticket at one of the European stops, the flight there, and hotel stays than it would to attend the show locally. I decided it would be worth actually calculating this and seeing which show would be the better value.

Unfortunately, There are no upcoming shows locally, so I chose to use Miami as the local show. As of now, it will cost you a whopping $2,081 for the cheapest ticket to the Miami show. That isn’t even the most expensive show on the US section of the tour. That honor goes to Indianapolis with a $2,125 minimum price tag. No wonder people call Taylor Swift “The Singing Stimulus Package.”

Now lets compare this to Europe’s cheapest show. Right now, you can get into Madrid on May 29th for only $311! That leaves us with $1,770 left to get a flight, hotel, and food. Using Google Travel, I was able to find a flight that will leave on May 28th for Madrid and return on May 31st for $694! What a steal! Its looking like the European T-Swift dream is getting closer to reality! Last up, hotel rooms. If we go the cheapest route here, there are plenty of budget options around $50 a night. We’d also imagine you’d need about $50 a day for food, so the final conclusion is that for the cheapest show at the cheapest rates, you’d save about $926 seeing Taylor live in Madrid over Miami.

With this much wiggle room, I went and checked flights and ticket prices to other stops on the European section of the tour. The most expensive European stop is London on August 19th for $1,139. With a flight to London costing $554, it appears that in almost every case, it would be cheaper to turn this show into a vacation.
