Would you believe that brands like Taco Bell, Starbucks and Adidas have dozens of employees whos role is just dedicated to international marketing?
Here is an example: I typed in “Social Media Taco Bell” on my LinkedIn. This photo captures just 1 page of the 4 pages of Social Media employees at Taco Bell.
The larger your brand, the more imperative it is to have a team dedicated to the social media outreach of that brand.
Why is it important?
“According to the latest Sprout Social Index, 90% of consumers will purchase from a brand they follow on social media. Your followers are also more likely to choose your brand over a competitor, visit your physical store and other actions that push sales in a positive direction” (SproutSocial.com). Social media drives sales as it impacts consumer behavior.
Large brands need a social media presence or they are left behind. The photo above indicates the behavior and actions of consumers who follow a brand's social media.
If you have a knack for social media, I would encourage you to search for social media roles. The larger the company, the more likely they have openings and a large team to learn the mechanics of managing a social media platform for a major brand.
